Log an odometer reading, and give an entry a place

ProPart of Pro

+ → Odometer reading, any time; in the phone app Scan the odometer reads the dash with the camera, and Read a photo reads one you took. Every reading, trip, visit and expense can have a Place too: type the address or coordinates, Use where I am, or Drop a pin.

Odometer readings

Log a reading any time. Readings keep the miles by month accurate between fill-ups and charges.

In the phone app, Scan the odometer reads the dash with the camera: the odometer by its ODO label or as the longest number on it, never the trip meter. It’s used only when it’s past your last reading and believable for the days since (else it says why).

You see it, then Use this reading.

Read a photo takes one you took before, from the phone’s photos, and reads it the same way.

A place on an entry

The card also shows when and where the photo was taken, as an address: from the photo itself, or for a new reading’s fresh shot without a location in it, where your phone is.

On Android a photo picked from the phone’s photos may come without its place (Android can keep it from apps); then only its day and time are offered, and the form says so. A photo taken from the app keeps its place.

Each has a tick box. It’s ticked only where the reading has nothing of its own; beside a date, time or place you entered it says yours and stays unticked, so the photo’s replaces yours only when you tick it. A photo added in the Photos section under it offers the same.

It goes in only with Use this reading, Use what’s ticked or, with both, Use the reading and what’s ticked.

Every reading, trip, maintenance visit and expense has a Place (optional) under its date: type the address, or coordinates as a map app copies them (35.22150, -97.43950); Use where I am adds where you are; Drop a pin opens a map to put the pin on the spot (in the phone app); Remove takes it off; and nothing else fills it. With a place, its ticket shows the flag, and the automatic region goes by it.

Without readings

Readings are added with + → Odometer reading. Below Pro, the odometer you type at each fill-up and charge already measures how far you drive, and a starting odometer (Garage → Edit → Where the log starts) sets where it begins.
